You design beautiful landscapes — we help them function as living ecosystems

Northern NSW has an unparalleled opportunity to lead in ecologically informed, climate resilient landscape design with tree-changers, creatives, and high-profile residents drawn to make this region home.

We invite landscape visionaries to elevate their projects through our ecological insight

— enhancing property value while creating biologically rich, living assets

The Challenge: Ecologically Disruptive Landscaping

New landholders and landscaping professionals may not yet know the ecological complexities of our region and certain landscaping practices and choices may inadvertently harm our biodiversity - particularly since many native species are cryptic, nocturnal or only seasonally active, making them easy to overlook.

Negative impacts are almost inevitable without understanding what species already inhabit a site. Landscaping choices can introduce non-native plants, alter natural habitats with heavy machinery or neglect to consider resident wildlife’s life-cycles and survival needs.  This  can cause direct harm to species and habitats, interfere with ecological processes and contribute to the spread of invasive species - risking the very elements that make our region unique and valuable.

Ecologists are often engaged after unintended impacts have occurred, when projects may require costly redesign or remediation. However, the greatest value of ecological expertise lies in prevention rather than repair.

Given the existing pressures on nature,  lets aspire to design in ways that truly support ecological resilience, avoid potential harm and deliver positive, restorative outcomes.

The Opportunity: Ecologically Sensitive Landscaping

Forward-thinking landscaping designers can help drive the growth of nature positive practices to restore and protect our region’s natural heritage. Clients are naturally drawn to beautiful planting designs but their connection to place can be deepened when landscapes are alive — filled with the birds, butterflies, wildflowers and native wildlife that belong here.

Involving property owners in the process will foster their personal connection to the design project, to local wildlife, and deepen their appreciation of the conservation values of their property. This may inspire ongoing investment in their living biological asset.

When ecological insight is woven into the design process early, it becomes a guiding layer within the design process. This proactive approach support the restoration of ecosystem services — including water regulation, soil health, microclimate moderation and natural pest management.

By integrating principles of rewilding, ecological restoration, and responsible stewardship from the outset, we help shape landscapes that enhance property value, celebrate place, protect local biodiversity, and contribute to global nature recovery.

01   Sustainability as a selling point

Property owners who have chosen to buy land in our region for its natural beauty are increasingly aware of the importance of sustainability. By offering ecologically-sensitive landscaping services, you can position your business as an industry leader and attract new clients who are eager to create a nature-positive legacy.

02   Enhancing Property Value

Landscapes that respect and enhance the local ecosystem are not only visually appealing but can also increase property value. Native plants, wildlife-friendly habitats, and ecologically sensitive design create spaces that re-connect people with nature.

03 Healthier and Resilient

Native plants and ecological restoration practices create landscapes that are more resilient to pests, diseases, and changing climate conditions. This leads to lower maintenance costs, reduced water usage, and fewer interventions—offering both economic and environmental benefits for your clients.
